Words Today
Words Today
The words today are bleak and bare,
They enter quick but rarely pair
A thing said to what is meant.
Signs point away, and often where
The speaker never wished to dare;
And yet, the tongue is spent.
The words today are digitized,
Without joy, swell or sheer surprise,
And they shuffle till erased.
They’re loaned to another server bank,
Where interest climbs until it’s yanked
To pay for current taste.
