Summer Rose
A Poem
Summer Rose
As like a summer rose I know your love,
Brightly encrusted ruby in the sun,
Fragrant petals which enclose my mind,
The gentle cluster of your full formed bud.
But the time is slight that I catch your bloom,
Just fresh from the morning’s mantle of dew,
And before the scourge of disrobing heat,
Before the arid wind scatters your leaf.
And since you take enough of the light,
Still need you water from the salt of my sight.

Forever tucked into my heart, revelation of God’s creation preserved in your words!🤍
